RE: replacement macerator pump hose on Roadtrek

Emailed Roadtrek reference hose. Warranty runs out after 1 year/12000 miles. Will try and find Sanicon hose. Do you have dimensions? Printed type on old white one says 1 inch so I assume it is the same.
Thanks for info........

RE: replacement macerator pump hose on Roadtrek

Strange, I was accessing the forum to complain about the hose on my 2007 RT 210P. It has a small crack in it as of last month. I was going to just cut it and splice it with a barbed coupler and clamps. Lo and behold a thread on waste hose right there at the top!
Problem here in Vegas is that Roadtrek will not drop ship stuff direct to owner and to get warranty service I have to go back to dealer in Orange County (McMahons). Not a viable option with gas prices the way they are--might just go buy some replacement hose that is more flexible and sturdy.....

RE: How Do You Fix Small Window Screens?

Repaired one on my 2007 RT 210P already on the side entry door.....mine had screen popped out of spline groove.....unscrew the aluminum frame from the door moulding. Reseat screening tight putting spline back in groove with screen underneath. Rescrew frame back into moulding.
I will probably have to take screen sample to Home Depot or Lowes and get some more as screen was cut too small at the corner where I reseated it. Hardest part of job was gettign frame rescrewed in-getting those screws at just the right angle to go back in their original holes at the door moulding. Not an exceedingly difficult job- Home depot folks can explain rescreening process. Good Luck.

RE: San Francisco in R/T 210P

Thanks for the post. We will be in that area late September or early October. Where did you stay while visiting the area?
Gail
Had son and grand daughter along so we hoteled it at a nice Embassy Suites north of the SFO Airport in South San Francisco. Sorry no help with ideas of places to park and camp so to speak on this trip. Lots of parking along coast near Golden Gate Park but I have no idea if you can stay overnight in those parking lots--perhaps some one else can chime in. If you want to hotel it avoid downtown as it might be tough to use hotel parking with height of a tall camper and parking downtown is expensive to boot at hotel rates!

San Francisco in R/T 210P

Did some touring for a few days around San Francisco. If you are apprehhensive about hills etc I say-- don't be afraid! No you probably don't want to try winding down Lombard Street but we navigated the city just fine including Fisherman's Wharf area and Golden Gate Park. 2 B Sightings in our experience. A R/T Adventurous down around Ghiradelli Square and a RT 190 parked near the Pacific Ocean at the west end of the Golden Gate Park.
Parking available at the wharf in the open air lot adjacent to Pier 39 between Boudin's and the Franciscan Seafood Restaurant. Normal slots no problem. The same owner now had a warehouse/pier parking lot next to that open air lot at the extreme north end of Taylor next to the Boudin's kiosk fast restaurant. Get 3 hours validated by eating at seafood restaurants.
Take a full tank of gas in with you--pricy around the Bay area.
Happy Motoring this summer all!

RE: Roadtrek Sun Shade?

Thanks all! Intending to use it in summer only as shade relief here in the high desert. REK, what branding is your shades if you remember? Our homeowners assoc doesn't care about this particular kind of tempo thing--kinda like my pool umbrellas! Neutral colors ok.

Roadtrek Sun Shade?

Have a 2007 RT 210P and would like to shelter it this summer with a relatively cheap overhead canopy for shade. Most of what I have seen so far is 9 foot at peak but the slope to the sides may be too steep and would come in contact with the van which is almost 8 and 1/2 foot for the entire width. Anyone find such a canopy or have a suggestion?
Thx, GC

2007 Roadtrek Onan Generator Problem/Followup

Posted a message earlier in April or March about problem we were having with Onan Gen on our 2007 Roadtrek 210P. Took it to local Cummins dealer for troubleshoot- hard to start then run for a bit then die/chugging-stall. Turned out to be bad fuel pump which was a 2.5 hour job to replace as unit had to be dropped and case opened. Under warranty so at least no cost to us. Hard to believe a unit with 34 hours on it would need a fuel pump replaced but they say it happens from time to time. For what it is worth.....
For new B owners.....Cummins recommends running that generator for an hour or 2 every month regardless of useage.

RE: RoadTrek: Inverter or Generator while driving

I have a 2007 RT 210P and am in my second year of fun. Have only 34 hours on generator. Logged 18,000 miles in year 1. Mostly touring and some camping. Home theater on the road using DVD/TV only requires the inverter. Microwave on the road and use of the coffee maker (if installed) requires the generator. We run the 3 way refrig on A/C while driving and propane of course when parked overnight etc.
You will be very happy with your Chevy Van. It is scary how fast this bullet cruises down the road!
Good luck and safe driving. Kepp a couple Roadtrek brochures in the seat pocket. You will get admirers and questions.

RE: Onan Generator Problem/Question

There is a warranty on that Onan. Why do you want to spend money on it when Onan will fix it for free? If s hop diagnosed it as a bad fule pump, why didn't they fix it under warranty?
Gunny,
I was passin thru Reno, found a Roadtrek dealer to investigate hoping it was an easy fix. When they told me it would take a few hours to replace pump I decided to wait til I got home as I was on a timetable to get to Utah at a reasonalble hour.
As for the other question on the altitude switch, I discovered after reading the Owners manual on the generator (last thing I usually do) that there is an altitude switch setting to adjust mixture from sea level to 10,000 ft. Approx settings only-not a precisely calibrated switch. It is located below the throttle linkage and is acessible after popping the access panel off the generator unit.
Thanks to all for inputs!

Onan Generator Problem/Question

Anyoine have a similar experience or advice?
I have a 2007 RT 210P with an Onan generator with 34 hours on it--never a problem. Changed the oil/filter at 20 hours as recommended. Live in the high desert and the altitude switch has been set at approx 1,ooo feet. We traveled up I5 over the mountains from California to Oregon and stopped at a rest area to eat. Started the generator to heat some lunch in microwave and the generator surged/stalled out under load.
Started up fine back in Vegas initially but ever since after about 4-5 minutes of running it starts to surge and eventually stalls. Seems to flood out. Took it to an RV Dealer service shop on the road in Reno the other day and they said I needed a new fuel pump. Doesn't seem right that a fairly new generator needs a new fuel pump but anything mechanical can break. Any ideas before I go back to a local repair shop to have them order a fuel pump based on other shop's recommendation? Thanks in advance!

RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

Enroute from Reno, NV to Ashland, Oregon we pulled off CA 89 just south of Mt Shasta on a cold, clear February morning for some breakfast Roadtrek style. This picture came naturally!
Same 2007 210P pictured earlier in this thread at the Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada......
